    New Guy with questions

    Greetings all,
52 year old that was starting to feel grumpy and sluggish, put on a bunch of weight when I was actually eating less/better and basically didn't feel like my old self, at all. Libido was okay at best but a half of a viagra kept me in the game. Finally got tested for low T and the best of two tests was 280. Got put on androgel 1%, 5 grams a day. After about a week I could feel the mental fog dissappear...I could concentrate again. After about another week I felt my energy and give a sh*t come back. In about another 3-5 days I was hornier than Hogan's goat and had the performance to go with it. Things were great for about a week, then, everything started to decline. In some respects I'm worse than before I started the androgel. Mental clarity is about the same but energy is back to about the same as pre-adrogel. The love-life has taken a big hit. While I have a willingness, I'd hardly call it desire and now a whole viagra sometimes doesn't do the trick.
I called my Dr. (who happens to actually be a PA) and explained everything to him. Basically he told me to suck it up till I hit the 3 month mark using the androgel and then we would redo blood tests to see what was going on. He says it could take that long for things to stabilize and doesn't want to change anything just yet. I've currently been on it about 2 months. I suspect my estrogen levels may be too high and that's what's screwing things up, but won't know for sure until the new blood test. Because of my insurance, just up and going to another Dr./group is not really an option.
Has anybody else experianced something similar? What was the fix? Any advice or knowledge you care to pass on? While this not only sucks for me, my darling wife some how feels all this is her fault and we all know that is hardly the case. Appreciate any info you have.

Welcome to the community! Repost in the Q&A section for more views & responses. I agree with you, its likely high estrogen.

    Hi Strat,

Your instincts are probably right, same thing happened to me this past week. I could tell a definite jolt, libido through the roof, energy high. Fast forward about 1-1.5 weeks later and have had a strong let down/return to previous state. BW showed higher T levels but also spike in estradiol (I'm not a full month in yet). Got my AI's today, will wait until my next inject on Friday and start taking them.

    Best of luck!
